I wanted to recap what are all the options you can use to filter tweets sent to your blog (or email).
Saving and archiving your tweets is important, but let's face it, it's sometimes nice to be able to filter out some of them, like this "@joe yes" or this "going to the bathroom #noise" tweets, which are meaningless in a blog context or worse rather embarrassing.
On the other hand, the most conservative of you would like to just send to your readership the gist of your tweets, like all the twitter-haiku you're so proud of!
They are three different filtering mechanisms options:
- #noise will be filtered out automatically (no need to setup anything)
- @replies (provided they are real replies by twitter definition can also be filtered out if you set the option in the LT management screen.
- #lt #lifetweet #loudtweet #loudtwitter will be filtered in if you tick the according checkbox in LT management screen
Let me know what do you think in the comments
Okay, I've been trying to set up LoudTwitter on my Livejournal for the past 3 days. I've used Mouser's tutorial here: http://mouser.livejournal.com/379686.html and I have gone through the steps about 5 or 6 times now, but to no avail. My email address is verified, I've set up email posting on LJ (using noreply@loudtwitter.com as the allowed email address, and USERNAME+PIN@livejournal.com on my loudtwitter account), as well as given the correct twitter account name.
I am utterly confused! Any help would be appreciated. My twitter name is Paralogy, just like my LJ and Loudtwitter.

Hi Pheobe, sorry about the troubles you went to... Loudtwitter had issues the past days, hopefully everything is back to normal now, but i'll continue to monitor

Hi, I sent you an email, but thought I would post here just to cover my bases. Not sure how to get your attention at Twitter unless you follow me back. Anyhow, LoudTwitter worked fine for weeks. Then all of a sudden it started posting gobblygook:
See here: http://pixiewildflower.livejournal.com/422585.html
Even Mouser doesn't know what to think. I've switched back and forth between atom and email. When I do a test on atom, I get the gooblygook. When I do a test on email, I get nothing at all and I am pretty sure I've set it up right. I've checked and double-checked my settings. The past few days, I've resorted to just cutting and pasting my twitter entries into LJ. Not quite as fun as LoudTwitter. I hope you can help!

Hi, yes I've replied to your email, this is base64 encoding... which LJ should decode before displaying on your blog, please answer my email.
Thanks!

Hello -- I am in desperate need of some help, please!
I have a LiveJournal account I've been using for several years (I have a permanent account). There is someone who has a twitter name that is identical to my LJ name, and somehow she posted a tweet yesterday and, using LoudTwitter, her tweet was posted on *MY* LJ!!! How is this even possible? I use a password to login to my LJ!!! Please help. I am very upset about this.

Hi Sarah, no it's not possible. For someone to post to your LJ you must have authorize it. So, I suggest you to login to LT, and cleaned it up from here. I can provide you some assistance by email if you're lost, please be sure to provide me email/twitter name/LJ login.

I got one good import and I was all happy because I thought it was straightened out...now it's back to the same old thing. When it's set on atom, gobbly-gook imports, but when it's on email, it doesn't import at all. **sigh** I've just been copying and pasting the tweets for now...wanted to know if other LJers are having this issue.

Hi,
I have been using loudtwitter to post to my journal blog http://willsjournal.onethingiknow.net, and for a long time it worked fine. Then suddenly it stopped posting. I thought I had remedied the situation, and a test posting actually went through, but still no regular postings from loudtwitter. Any help you can offer would be great. twitter: willjake

Hi, You've set up two posting methods, a correct one (I guess) using xmlrpc, and an incorrect atom You should login to Loudtwitter and change your "preferred posting method" to xmlrpc.
Posted by: loudtwitter | March 08, 2009 at 08:20 PM
Thanks for the reply. but how do I do that? When I try to delete the information in the atom posting method I cannot seem to do so. I also can't seem to find a place where I can actually change my posting method. Currently it says I am posting by the old-fashioned xmlrpc method. Thanks again for your help.

I find LoudTwitter interesting, but I think I would like to drop my subscription. How do I do that?
Posted by: Zorya | March 21, 2009 at 09:38 AM
Hi Zorya, login to LT, and then click "suspend" or "delete"

Hi. I have an LJ and an IJ (InsaneJournal) at which I mirror my LJ. Is there a way to have LT post my tweets to both accounts? I've been copying the tweet posts manually to my IJ but sometimes I don't get around to it till the next day, and I'm hoping there's an easier way.

Hello...I have a quick question. When Loudtwitter ships tweets to my blog, it adds in all kinds of crazy backslashes and "n/"s and such. (as you can see here: http://www.adorability.org) It didn't always do this...everything before March 24th was fine. Can anything be done? (I use xmlrpc to post to tweets to wordpress)
Thank you =)

I can't make LoudTwitter STOP posting to my blog (www.enchochada.livejournal.com)
I suspended the feature on LoudTwitter (my twiitter username is emmapirate btw) - it didn't stop posting them.
I have deleted my account and it still won't stop posting them. PLEASE! Make it stop!

you probably have created duplicated account, but deleted it in the meantime, I can't find any account linked to 'emmapirate' anymore

Hi there.
I have no been getting my loudtwitter posts to my blog. When I did a test push yesterday I got them, an I just edited that down in the blog. Then there was a 1 tweet update at the wrong time that same night.
I went to go see the tweets I did today in my blog and I did not see the post. When I came to do another test push to see if everything was working, I got a message saying that there was a problem encountered.
I'd just lik you to know of the issue and also hope that it will be resolved soon.

I'm not sure if this has been brought up before... but what about making loudtwitter compatible with multiply.com?

I have and idea to improve this wonderful service even more.
URLs in twitter are frequently packed by some url-shortening sites (like is.gd which is used by 'twitterbar' firefox extension). This is usefull for twits which may be delivered by SMS. But for blogs this url compressing is only harm: blind urls and no guarantee that url compressing service will be alive in futute.
It would be great to unpack such shortened urls in postings.

I just had a suggestion. I think it'd be awesome if there was a way to send protected tweets to Livejournal. I like having my tweets on LJ, but I also like having my stuff locked for privacy! Is there a way to get the best of both worlds?

The SAME THING is happening to me! I'm at my wits end. My LJ friends are angry at me and I even lost one friend. I send you an email on 4/25/09 that said:
"I have a bit of a problem. I no longer wanted to transfer my tweets to my LJ account. I tried to stop the process. When that didn't work, I deleted the account completely. It didn't work what-so-ever. I have no idea what to do! Please help me." Twitter & LJ name: PochaccoYoly

Any hope for getting LT to work with private twitters at some point in the not-to-distant future?

Help?
Loudtwitter is shipping my tweets to livejournal twice:
loveanddarkness.livejournal.com
(you can't see the dupes because I've deleted them). One ships as "Tweets" - the second as "I Tweeted This."
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
